About Beg Me

Markie lost her parents when she was young. She and Mira, her sister, went to live with Lollie, their grandmother. Mira left Sugar Creek as soon as she could. But Markie made a home there. Her friends and Lollie are there. She loves playing pickleball and has played in the town’s annual tournament for years. But always with her ex.

Jory is a single dad. When he was younger, he and his girlfriend conceived Gus. But Jory did not know he was a dad until a couple of years ago. They both assumed she was pregnant with the man she started seeing right after they broke up. He is a professional rugby player for the Tennessee team. On top of that, he is best friends with Miles, Markie and Mira’s half brother.

Jory rents the house that Miles owns in Sugar Creek. Grey has told him all about his home town so Jory decides to bring Gus there for the summer. Sadly, Gus needs to improve his math skills so he has workbooks he has to complete. But Jory is not a math whiz. So when Markie needs a pickleball partner, they come to an agreement.

Markie has agreed to help Gus with his math worksheets that he has to do this summer. So after pickleball practice she goes to Jory’s house, he cooks dinner and she tutors Gus. But Gus is easily distracted and very little math gets done. Instead he has made friends and usually ends up doing things with them. Considering they are in a new town, Jory allows him to be a kid and have fun.

While the child is away, the adults will play …

Markie knows that her time with Jory is limited. He is going back to play his final season of rugby, then retiring. But where will he go after he retires remains to be seen. Will he come back to Sugar Creek? Will he go to Nevada to be closer to Gus?

When a family emergency occurs for Jory and Gus, they leave in a hurry. Sadly, Markie is left to pick up the pieces of her heart. But her friends are there to support her through everything.

So when Jory shows up at her house unexpectedly, she is shocked. He is not supposed to be there. He is supposed to be with Gus. But after a long talk with Gus and his ex, he was sent to get Gus’ new stepmom. So here he is. Oh and to kick some booty in the pickleball tournament.

Impressions

This was such a great ending to this series. Although there was heartbreak, Ms Locke put us all back together again. We saw good times and bad time throughout the series. We saw funny moments, especially with Lollie. And we saw friendships grow and blossom and everyone returning to Sugar Creek.

For Markie, she never wanted to leave home. But with Jory and Gus she is willing to leave. It is only for a few years, until Gus goes off to college. And they will come back to Sugar Creek as often as possible.

I will say, I have a hard time understanding how Miles can be related to Markie and Mira. He is rude, condescending and self centered. And I truly loved that Markie put him in his place. Someone needed to. The fact that Jory chose Markie over his friendship with Miles and told him that had me cheering. But saying that, I must admit I need Miles’ story. I need to know what makes himi tick and what woman could bring him to his knees.

I truly hope we see more of all of these people in future books. Even if it is just a glimpse. Everyone in this series deserves more screen time. And Lollie needs to take her matchmaking, wedding planning, shenanigans on the road. Lord help us if she ever teams up with gram from The Arrangement (The Brewer Family series) in the matchmaking and shenanigans.

Narration

Allyson Voller and Lance Greenfield brought Markie and Jory to life. The fun times. The serious times. The competitive times. They brought everything to the final book of this series and held nothing back.
