About Ive Got a Crush On You
Chloe has a loving mom, but she is very into music and Chloe did not want to play piano professionally. Instead she is trying to build her dog training business while paying the bills with her daytime job working for her ex-husband’s father and side-by-side with her ex. When a marketing catastrophe occurs, she is blamed and fired. Now she has to find another job.
Sawyer was raised in a loving family. His two sisters conned him in to doing karaoke one night and he has been doing it ever since under a disguise and fake name. He has a chain of dog resorts that include grooming daycare and training. He attends a party with his sisters one night and meets a woman. One thing leads to another and the next morning he wakes up alone.
When Chloe sees a new dog resort going in, she inquires about a space for dog training. She signs the paperwork She is now a business owner. But wait until she finds out who the owner of the dog resort is.
When Sawyer sees Chloe in his business he thinks she is stalking him. Yeah right! Why in the world would she want to do that?
After “discussing” the situation, he agrees to let her run her dog training business out of the dog resort. But he is not happy about having to see her everyday.
When a huge opportunity arises for both the dog training and dog events planning sides of the business, both Chloe and Sawyer jump at the opportunity. He even starts helping her prepare her area and work with the dogs. Apparently the tension has broken some.
As Chloe and Sawyer work together, not just on expanding their businesses, but also on the community musical, secrets will start to emerge. Yes he can sing. No he cannot dance. She plays piano. She can dance. They are spending so much time together, he becomes afraid of being hurt again. So he begins withdrawing from her. The less time they spend together, the less he will be hurt when she leaves him.
Enter Sawyer’s dad to the rescue.
Will these two be able to figure things out? Will he ever recover from being left by his fiance? Will he come to his senses before it is too late? Will his father talk some sense into him?
Impressions
Ive Got a Crush On You is a cute story. I love how much the dogs played a part in this story. Although it is not a dog story per se, the dogs play big roles in this story. From beginning to end there is a dog doing something.
Who would have expected Sawyer to be so good at karaoke? Wow! He puts on a completely new persona and becomes that person. It was truly amazing to watch.
I was so glad that Chloe decided to go out on her own and finally open her dog training business. She has been doing it for years in her spare time, but with losing her job, she finally had the impetus to make her dream a reality.
And I must admit I loved that Chloe got the last laugh at her ex’s expense. Best moment ever!!!!!
Narration
Another Connor Crais narration for me. It seems like I listen to him in waves and then he is gone for awhile. I loved him as Sawyer. He brought out the emotion hiding behind his eyes in this story. Vanessa Edwin as Chloe brought out her tenacity, as well as her sickeningly sweet side. But that was just who she was.
