About Falling For Love
Jack Dare is one of four children born to Ian and Riley Dare. He is the second born, and the oldest son. He was raised with his siblings and cousins in a loving and gregarious family. He knew at a young age he did not want to follow in his father’s footsteps and work for the Miami Thunder. Instead, he wanted to go out on his own and prove he could do anything without his father’s name and money.
Taylor is one of two daughters born to her parents. She and Holly, her sister, are best friends and thick as thieves. She has made a name for herself in the corporate, political and charitable fundraising. She has followed in her father’s footsteps in her charitable work and is proud of what she does.
Jack, Tristan and Lucas opened Midnight, a Miami nightclub, together with their own money. They are now in the market to open a second club and have decided that Charleston, South Carolina is the place. Now Jack is there scouting sites for the new club.
After a an evening spent touring several locations with their realtor, Jack has found the location that is perfect for the new club. Now he just needs to go over it with Tristan and Lucas on their video call later. So he decides to walk the area where the new location is and check out the vibe. He finds a place to get something to eat, but they are packed. So he asks a woman if he can share her table so he can get some food.
They enjoy the music being performed, but when something, or someone, spooks Taylor and she packs up quickly and heads for the door. But Jack is on her tail and follows her until he catches up with her. She does not explain herself, so he asks her to take a walk. Which ends at his hotel. One night. That is all this is.
Well, what happens in Charleston does not stay in Charleston.
Taylor decides she needs a break and goes to Miami for a vacation. She needs to talk to Jack. She only knows his first name and the name of his club. Nothing more. When she tracks him down, she is nervous. How do you tell a one night stand that he is going to be a daddy?
While shocked, Jack takes the news in stride. He has not been able to forget Taylor since their hookup and now he can spend more time with her. But neither of them have any idea that her past is about to make her future a nightmare.
When Taylor finally tells Jack what waiting for her back in Charleston, they decide to face it together. He has connections and he uses them to take on the devil. But the devil will not go away quietly. And it may cost them everything they have been building.
Impressions
Jack and Taylor are perfect for each other. He needs to take care of her and protect her. It is his nature. She needs someone to listen to her and talk to her, not at her.
I had to laugh so hard at Ian, when Jack told his family about Taylor’s pregnancy. “I’m pretty sure I had the use protection talk with you.” Pure Ian Dare. Only he could get away with saying that and not start a family feud. But then Jack’s response was just as straight faced and straightforward. Like father, like son.
Taylor’s cousin is not fit to be in her presence. He is a spy for her ex, and tattles on everything she does. He may have his reasons, but that is not good enough.
Taylor’s ex is not fit to be in anyone’s presence. He is narcissistic and in his profession, his downfall is coming. I think my favorite stick it to him scene was at the speech. He deserved all of the press that made him look bad from that event.
I think we need a wedding, or three. Jack, Tristan, and Lucas are all engaged now. So when will we see at least one of them get married? Please, pretty please.
