Briar comes home from a convention to find her belongings stuffed into trash bags and her ex-boyfriend kicking her out of their apartment so he can move his new girlfriend in. And, he stole Briar’s cat because his new girlfriend loves her. So when he leaves to go pickup this new girlfriend, she decides to steal her cat back. Her efforts are comedic. Lucky for her, along come three hunky hockey players to rescue her and the cat. Chance meeting? Maybe. Maybe not.
A few days later, Briar makes arrangements to move in to her rental in Lucky Falls, for the Festival, early due to being temporarily homeless. What she doesn’t expect is to find one of her cat rescuers undressing himself at her hot tub. What the heck?
That night, Hollis and Briar get up close and personal until her impressive acting skills that don’t fool Hollis. Thus begins their relationship. For the first time ever, both of them open up and lay bare their issues. They are vulnerable and trusting of the other person. This is the start of something special between them, and will carry forward as Gavin and Rhys become members of the relationship.
When Rhys and Gavin show up the next day, relationships are formed separately and together. An agreement is made between the four to remain friends when their week at the festival ends.
What Makes A Great Boyfriend?
As part of showing Briar what makes a good boyfriend, the guys learn to ask for permission, ask questions to get to know Briar’s likes and dislikes, both in bed and out. The reason for all of this getting to know her is twofold. One, because of Briar’s history. Two, and more importantly, it’s to show her what makes a great boyfriend. This second reason will prove to be her biggest accomplishment, much to her ex’s dismay.
Well and Truly Pucked was a nice change of pace in this series. There are tender moments mixed in with comedic moments. And the kicker was the “What Makes a Good Boyfriend” contest.
