The Merger is book 4 in the Brewer Family series and follows eldest son, Gannon, on his forbidden obsession with his youngest brother’s, Tate’s, best friend, Carys.
About The Merger
Gannon is the grumpy Brewer brother. From a young age, he knew he was meant to follow in his father’s footsteps and run Brewer Group. As he was growing up, he vowed he would not be like his father. He is all business. But we all know “all business and no play makes Gannon a grumpy boy”.
Carys is Tate Brewer’s best friend. His brothers have often wondered if there was ever more, but there was not. He knows about her family history and dynamic. When she starts stressing about making her company a success, he suggests she try to focus on another market. This leads her to ask to take care of Brewer Group’s plants.
Tate is not able to make that decision and tells her she has to go through Gannon. Just what she wants to do. He does not even like her.
What Carys does not know is that Gannon more than likes her, but he can’t let anything happen. He makes it very clear she is to steer clear of him at the office when she is there taking care of the plants. But in a drunken text mishap one night, when she thought she was texting Tate, she actually texts Gannon. Yep, you guessed it. A holy can of worms has been opened and there is no putting the worms back in and re-sealing the can.
Carys has daddy issues. But, then, so does Gannon. Different issues, but a common denominator. On top of that, they have Tate in common. This is just a fling, so no need to tell Tate, right?
But when a surprise rocks Gannon, and makes him realize what he really wants, will Carys understand and listen to him about the confrontation he had?
And when Carys has a confrontation that leaves her realizing what she has with Gannon, will she share her epiphany with him?
And when the final bombshell hits, will they bond together over the news, or will it tear them apart? Will memories cause them to go separate ways, or will this be a new beginning?
So many possibilities. And then there is Tate. Bless his heart, but he is in for some shocking revelations. What he does will remind you of Banks from the Carmichael series.
Narration
Jack Callihan is a new to me narrator. I truly enjoyed him as Gannon. His voice is unique and brought out Gannon’s inflections and emotions that he keeps under tight control. Angelina Rocca was beautiful as Carys. Portraying her vulnerability, as well as her strength. These two are a good pair.
