The Invitation is book 3 in the Brewer Family series and follows enemies Ripley and Georgia as they navigate working together on a reality television show.
About The Invitation
Ripley and Georgia have been sworn enemies since they were in high school. No one knows why they hate each other so much. So when they are thrown together as Best Man and Maid of Honor for Jeremiah and Sutton’s wedding they will have to learn to play nice (yeah right).
Except playing nice is going to need to happen sooner. When the original characters for “The Invitation” back out from the show, the show is at risk. Since this is Sutton’s project, she calls Georgia in tears when she finds out. Since Georgia is currently unemployed, she agrees to help Sutton out and be the female love interest for the show.
Because of everything that happened with their father, the Brewer family name is not well respected right now. When Tate gets a call from a close family friend, he passes it on to Ripley to take care of.
So what will happen when two supposed strangers go on their first date. Well, things are said and done that show they are not strangers (surprise surprise), but overall the date goes well. They both are professional and trying to adhere to agreed upon rules.
But at some point the lines get blurred. Both are opening up to each other. About the past and the present. They talk about their fears and their dreams. Both are still scared to trust the other. But things are changing for them.
Until Georgia’s mom finds out who he is. Things are said. Truths are told.
Will Ripley and Georgia be able to move on from the confrontation with her mom? Or will they revert back to sworn enemies?
During this time of unrest, Georgia starts her new job in marketing. But when she reads the contents of a file left on her desk and sees that her boss has been in a battle with the Brewers, she knows what she needs to do. She needs to show Ripley she has his back and his family’s. She could not show him with her mother, but she can show him now.
Will this be enough for Ripley to let her back in to his life? And what is Georgia going to do about a job now? It took her so long to find this job and she just quit.What will the future hold for these two? And how will it impact their relationships with the mutual friends? And what ever happened with “The Invitation” that they filmed?
Narration
Jason Clarke is such a dream to listen to. His voice is lulling, even when verbally sparring with his counterpoint. Lexi Maynard is new to me. I found her range of voices to be quite wide. I love her Sutton voice the absolute best.
