It’s been awhile since I have truly enjoyed a simple story of fake engagement, marriage of convenience, insta-family.
Elodie is a chocolatier with her own shop. Unfortunately, she is in competition with another chocolate company that is country-wide and has offered to buy her out. She doesn’t know what to do. If she takes the offer, she can pay off her loan and pay for her sister’s art school. If she doesn’t, it will be a struggle with the competition.
Gage is a bar owner who wants to expand and open a second, upscale bar. The property manager he’s dealing with is requiring him to come up with marketing ideas and how he plans to promote the new bar and bring in the clientele. He’s struggling with impressing the property manager.
One night a chance meeting at the bar bonds Elodie and Gage for the rest of the year. Yes, just a few short months, but it will allow them to both meet their goals. Unfortunately, fate plays tricks on them and the next thing they know they are fake engaged. Next thing we know, they are getting married to further protect themselves from a threat. Neither expect this to last past the holidays. But when his daughter and her sister and grams get involved, all bets are off.
By the way, I freaking love Grams. She is a hoot and sees more than people realize.
