About Playing Mr Perfect
Pepper Montgomery is a scientist specializing in neurological disabilities. This all started when she was a young girl and her sister was struggling with epilepsy. She always loved science, but Amber’s disability made her want to do something to help her sister.
Pepper is very serious and all business. She started her own company to be able to do research and come up with solutions to real life problems. She is always working and does not take time off for vacation. So when she shows up in Paris to see her twin, Sable, open for Badd Intentions, everyone is surprised.
Clay is the quarterback for a potential championship team. This past season, they lost in a playoff game and he is blaming himself for the loss. He had an injury that has thrown off his game and his ability to know the innate timing of throwing the football.
Clay is starting to get a complex since every time there is a big get together that he attends, Pepper is absent. So when he sees her in Paris, he goes on the offense. There is a connection between them and he wants to see where it can go. But Pepper does not agree.
Paris is the city of love for a reason. It is such a beautiful city with so many sights to see. Since she promised her sisters she would not work on this trip, she is meeting them and their spouses for meals and doing the sightseeing thing. In the process, she is also avoiding Clay.
When the group starts to split off to visit other destinations, Pepper is scheduled to go home. Clay convinces her to stay one more day in Paris with him. The adventure they have sounds like so much fun and something I would love to try on a vacation.
When Pepper returns home, she is distracted. She keeps remembering her time in Paris. So when she gets a surprise visitor at her office, she is shocked. Especially when they tell her they are staying for awhile.
As things start to gel for Pepper and she gets in to the swing of things after her time off, she starts thinking maybe she and Clay could see where things might lead. She is worried about a long distance relationship and the fact he is a sports star. But she has to trust him and trust that he is telling her the truth about what he wants. It is scary, but anything worth doing is scary.
When Clay tells her about his problem with the timing of his throwing, she decides to see if she can help him. Again, she is all about helping those in need.
Clay has been stalling on signing his contract extension. He is not sure about his throwing ability and he does not want to let his team down. And now, he is also worried about Pepper when he is traveling with the team. She is worried about a long distance relationship, so how will she handle the away games?
Will Pepper be able to handle the travel schedule and any uncertainty she has? Will Clay prove to Pepper there is nothing to worry about? Will Pepper come up with a solution to Clay’s throwing problem? Will Clay sign the contract extension? Is her family and his friends playing matchmakers for these two? So many questions …

It has been years since I have listened to a Christian Fox narration. I forgot how nice it is to listen to him. And Savannah Peachwood is one of my favorite female narrators, so it was a pleasure having her in my ears.
