Harlow is in New York City to pitch her new dating app Kissmet. She took some time to go to Central Park to experience New York City. When she sees the food truck she decides to get a snack.
While standing in line she overhears the person in front of her order the chicken. She warns him about food truck chicken. What she does not tell him is that she knows what will happen based on experience from her previous trip
He does not believe her, and thinks she is crazy, so he makes a deal with her. Figuring he will not see her again, he has nothing to lose, right?
Andy eats and enjoys his chicken until he does not. He cannot believe the girl at the food truck knew what she was talking about. He is miserable trying to get back to the hotel so he can be sick in private.
Just his luck, as he is waiting for the elevator to go to his room the girl from the food truck walks off of it. He is stunned to see her, to say the least. I mean what are the chances she is staying at the same hotel as he is and she is getting off the elevator he desperately needs to get on.
Harlow has spunk and Andy really likes that about her. The fact she does not recognize him is a little disconcerting but also makes their time together more meaningful.
After spending the next day together to honor his debt, things progress. But this is just a one night stand. I mean he lives in Seattle and she lives in Green Bay. She has too much to do on her app so it can go live on schedule that she cannot worry about a relationship, let alone a long distance one.
Impressions
I had to chuckle at some of the conversations Andy had with his best friend Dex. I am so hoping that Dex gets a book and deals with some of the things he is ribbing Andy about. But he is right about one thing; Andy needs to tell her who he really is before someone else does.
Hqrlow’s dad, Big Steve, is a hoot. He is such a fangirl. But I am not sure I could put up with his constant “fixing” of things in my house that are not broken.
Finally, there are Andy’s parents. They are so down to earth and raised him to be humble and thankful. I loved the conversation he had with his mom at the grocery store. She had absolutely no problem putting her cart aside and going out to her car so they could have some privacy for it. And his dad’s man cave. The retro feel with all of Andy’s awards and achievements on display.
