About Follow the Play
Baker Sinclair, aka Daddy Sin, is a running back for the Nashville Rampage football team. He is also a single father to Camden who he had with model Natasha. He is an only child, but loves his parents dearly. He has made his own family with teammates Knox, Landry, Reid and Foster, plus their spouses. His son has the absolute best aunts and uncles in this group.
Sloane is Corie’s best friend since they were little. She is an only child with parents who love her completely and just want her to be happy. She is a kindergarten teacher and loves molding new minds.
Sloan recently found out that due to budget cuts, her job was being eliminated. She has been looking for a new job, but with it so close to the new school year, so far all positions are filled. She fears she will need to go back to waiting tables at a local bar for the next year. She has not told anyone in her found family about this change yet, but she will need to soon.
Daddy Sin is in need of a new nanny since his current one is leaving immediately to move closer to her daughter who is pregnant with twins. It was always the plan, but she is unable to give any notice since her daughter is having issues with the pregnancy. Not only that, but it is right before training camp. How will he find the time to interview and vet a new nanny?
Since Sloane is currently unemployed, she offers to help Daddy Sin out and be his nanny until he can find a new one.
Camden Sinclair, Baby Sin, is the cutest toddler ever. He is very smart and loved by everyone. So when Sloane takes over as his nanny, he transitions easily. He knows her and loves her.
But when tragedy strikes the Sinclair household, it will be Sloane who holds these two together and gets them through what is to come.
As Daddy Sin finds himself relying more and more on Sloane, he is also finding himself wanting more. But Sloane is worried about appearances. She is his nanny. What will people think?
Sloane forgets she is more than the nanny. She is, and has been for years, a friend.
As things move forward, the alpha male comes out in Daddy Sin. He wants what his friends have, and he knows Sloane is his person.
Impressions
This is a slow burn story. Daddy Sin has to be careful about introducing anyone to his son. They are a package deal. He wants to make sure that whoever he introduces to his son, will accept him as theirs. Sloane loves Baby Sin so much, it is as if he is hers. Biology does not trump the heart.
I originally despised Natasha, but then I felt sorry for her. She was missing out on so much She wanted the lifestyle she had before Baby Sin and she made decisions that were not in his best interest. At least with Sloane, she is dedicated to him and is always there for him. She is more of a mother to him than his bio mom ever was.
Not only did Sloane treasure Baby Sin as if he were her own, but so did her parents. They so easily stepped in to grandparent role. They outfitted their house for having him over for dinner. Then they spoiled him rotten for Christmas. I love that biology does not matter to them and they accept him for their own grandchild.
