Boone is book 11 in the Pittsburgh Titans series and follows Boone on an emotional ride with Lilly and her little brother Aiden.

About Boone
Boone is a hockey player for the Pittsburgh Titans and loves visiting the sick children at the hospital. If he can bring them some joy during their illness, then he will be there, no matter the toll it takes on him emotionally.
Lilly is the older sister of Aiden who is a patient at the hospital the Titans visit. Boone visits with him and signs promotional items for him and takes pictures. She is watching over her brother in the hospital, while also working full time in order to pay the bills. Her father has “checked out” of life.
When Aiden receives a much needed procedure, they are hopeful that the worst is over. This procedure could save his life.
As Aiden is healing from the procedure, he plays matchmaker with Lilly and Boone. It starts simple. Lilly has never been to a hockey game. So Boone arranges for tickets for her to come to his next home game. She video chats with Aiden throughout the game so he can feel as if he is there with her. Even with their age difference, these two siblings are very close.
The hockey game is just the start of what will come. Boone wants to make life easier for Lilly. She works too hard and then goes straight to the hospital to stay with Aiden overnight. She does not want him to feel alone or forgotten. So Boone starts spending as much time at the hospital with him and spending more time with her, as well. Little things here and there to help ease the burden.

But when a new challenge arises, it is Aiden who steps up. He gives his sister permission to live her life. He asks Boone to take care of her. All he wants is for her to be happy. And he thinks Boone will make her happy.
The Titans are a family. They are there in good times and bad. They are there to celebrate, mourn and support the members of their family. They are there to honor the wishes of one of their youngest “brothers”.
Impressions
I highly recommend that you have tissues ready when you start this story. This story is not one that should be read or listened to in a public place.
Sawyer Bennett gutted me with this book. For most readers and listeners, you will understand the subject matter is tense, stressful, and worrying. But for me, it was personal. For the last six months I have been dealing with a similar situation so this story hit very close to home for me. It scared me. Even with all of the reassurances I have received, it still makes me question life and my mortality.
Narration
Jeremy York and Stella Hunter bring out all of the emotions. The joy and fun celebrating the little milestones. The birthday party with all of the Titans. And the grief and sorrow for the setbacks. The emotional roller coaster was quite the ride with these two.
