About Hide and Seek
Callum grew up next door to the Willoughby’s. He and Hayden, Grace’s brother, are best friends. They went to West Point together, joined the Army together, and became Army Rangers together. He spent more time at the Willoughby’s home than at his own.
Grace grew up in a loving family with an overprotective big brother, and his overprotective best friend. Being the little sister she was always tagging along with Hayden, her brother, and Callum, his best friend, even when they did not want her to. She has always had a crush on Callum, but knew he did not feel the same way.
After separating from the Army, Callum now works for Titan Protectors, another arm of the Titan Group. When he is brought in to the office for his next assignment, he is shocked to see who and what it is. He never expected to see this person again.
Grace has been in hiding for years. But when her past comes back at her she has no choice but to run. She is rattled and thoroughly scared out of her mind when she calls her brother. Since he is still in the Army, she is forced to leave a message. She never expects to be found easily, nor to see the one person who finds her.
Grace is a shell of herself when Callum finds her. She is unable to look him in the eye. She plays with her beaded bracelets when she is stressed or anxious. She trusts no one except the few people that have helped her over the years.
Over the next couple of days, Grace and Callum reconnect. He is angry that he was kept in the dark about what has happened to her and why she went to the extremes that she went to. But since he is not willing to share why he is no longer in the Army, he relents. This allows them to start rebuilding trust.
But when unexpected threats start coming at them, something needs to change.
Since they have been staying at her friend, Alicia’s, home when the first threat occurs, Grace feels guilty for bringing danger and destruction to her friend. But a change of locations becomes absolutely necessary.
But when their new location becomes the new target of attack, something is absolutely wrong. There is a leak. But where is the leak? Callum trusts his team, but who else knew where they were?
So when a third attempt is made on Grace’s life, Callum no longer trusts anyone. Including his teammates.
Enter boss man, Jared Westin.
After they speak, a team is put together, incorporating OG Titan team members into Titan Protectors.
Will they find Grace in time? Or will whoever is out to get her, succeed? And why do they want her? And how does her ex-husband figure in to this? So many questions.
Impressions
For a book one in a series, this book was amazing. I have always loved the original Titan men, so it was great to see Jared, Rocco, Roman and Parker crossover into this book. In addition, we have the mention that Delta is there, so that means Brock and his team have also crossed over.
Hearing boss man relive his story about when someone tried to take Sugar from him brought back so many memories of Westin’s Chase. I loved that he was absolutely honest about how he took revenge on the person behind the threat when telling Callum the story. It gave Callum a new appreciation for the man and for his understanding of what he was going through.
I still have so many questions that I hope will be answered over the course of this series.
