About Legacy
Callum is an ex-professional football player. When he retired, he came home to Ashford Creek. His family founded the town he calls home. His father has done everything in his power to make every Ashford’s life miserable. Mysteries and secrets run rampant through Ashford Creek, especially around the Ashford’s themselves.
Felicity is the youngest child and only girl in her family. She was an oops baby, but her brothers both love her and protect her from everything, including boys (men). She works for the local bookkeeper and loves what she does. She is moving back to Ashford Creek after college in order to work full time at the bookkeepers office and be near her family.
Felicity has had a crush on Callum for years. Two years ago, things happened that should not have, at least in his eyes, that are never spoken of. She is his best friend’s little sister. She is forbidden. She is also a decade younger than him. She is just starting her life and he is just getting by.
But the chemistry between Callum and Felicity is off the charts. Everyone can see it even though they think they are hiding it.
When Callum finds Felicity a house to rent so she can have her own space, it is right across the street from his house. Coincidence? I think not.
When they start hanging out together, it is at either his house or her house. Coincidence? I think not.
But when his past comes back to haunt him and threaten Felicity in the process, secrets will come out, lives will be changed, but will a friendship be ruined?
Impressions
I have to admit, I love Rune and Atlas, Felicity’s brothers. I am hoping to see more of them in future Ashford Creek books. Maybe even one of them can be Teagan’s love interest, hint hint.
Felicity is a strong woman. She does not let any man take advantage of her. Yet she lets the four L’s walk all over her. I am having a hard time with this. Is it because she really does not have any girlfriends in Ashford Creek? Or is there something else at play here?
Callum has secrets. So many secrets. Some will be revealed in this story. But I believe there are still more to come. Are they solely his, or his family’s is yet to be seen.
Narration
Legacy is narrated by Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor, two of my favorite, and most listened to, narrators. I love Jason’s gruff voice as Callum and Rune. You can tell their lives have not always been easy. And the sweetness in Samantha’s voice brings out Felicity’s youth and naivete. But when things go wrong, her fear and strength are evident in the narration. Here is to more audiobooks from these two.
