Honeymoon Phase is book 3 in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series and follows youngest Fletcher brother Luke as he tries to convince his best friend, Addie, to marry him instead of someone else so she can keep her family legacy.

Luke is the youngest of the four Fletcher brothers. When his father died years ago, it was Luke who held him when he took his last breath. It is a memory he will never forget. Now that all of his brothers are happily married or involved, he wants that too. But the person he wants it with is his best friend, who is adverse to relationships.
Addison is the oldest child of John Monroe. Sadly, he lost his youngest child, Aaron, in a tragic car accident when he was eight. Addie and Aaron were very close. She visits his grave site often when she is sad, lonely or trying to work something out in her head. She has been running the family lumber yard ever since her father moved to Florida. Sadly, according to the business trust, she cannot inherit the business unless she has been married for a year.
Ever since Addie told Luke about the business trust stipulation, he has proposed to her twice. And she has declined twice. He is her best friend and she does not want to lose that. She only wants to meet the stipulations of the trust and then get the marriage annulled or get a divorce. So she turns to the lumberjack competition to find herself a husband.
So Luke engages his niece, Everly, to be his coach for the lumberjack competition. She orders used equipment for him to practice. He has six weeks before the competition. But Everly is heading back to Ireland for school in a week. So she engages his brothers to help him train. Just what he needs.
The day of the competition, Luke is jealous of Ivan, a competitor who knows Addie well. Although Luke is not the best at the competition, by the end of it, she is impressed at what he is willing to do to convince her to marry him.
Since she finally asked him to marry her, off they go to the county courthouse to get married. They do not need witnesses, so they go by themselves and get married. But when everyone finds out, there will be a price to pay.
Luke and Addie have been best friends for forever. But they have also been secretly attracted to each other for a long time. Neither wanted to ruin their friendship, until now. Luke wants her to be his wife. He wants a life with her. But Addie is so scared of relationships. Everyone she has loved has left her. Her brother, Aaron, died in the car accident. Her mother went to jail. When she got out, she just left. Her father moved to Florida with his lady friend.
Impressions
Both Luke and Addison have trauma in their lives that cause them to shy away from relationships. But when Luke’s trauma reemerges, Addison will take care of business. She will fit in nicely with the Fletcher boys.
Sadly, this will not be the end of this problem. So when Luke confronts John, Addison’s father, about what he is planning, he does not hold back. Addie will be crushed is John does what he is planning. But John has his reasons and it will take a heart to heart talk with Addie for everything to come out about what happened all of those years ago.
I knew we were missing information throughout the book, but when the truth came out I was shocked. Things started making more sense as the secrets were revealed. Seeing father and daughter mend fences and bond over things that happened and the repercussions was the light at the end of the tunnel.
Narration
Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon are always a joy to listen to. They have narrated this series with so much love, laughter and heartbreak.
