Clear Shot is book 9 in the Lauderdale Knights series and follows Aiden as he falls in love with his new wife, Hana.

About Clear Shot
Aiden is a pro hockey player with the Lauderdale Knights. He did not have an easy childhood growing up in the middle of mental illness. He was lucky to get in to hockey at a young age and be good at it. It helped him get away from the chaos of home and his own bouts of depression.
Hana is Aiden’s teammate, Johan’s, little sister. She has had a crush on Aiden since the day they met, but refused to get involved with him. As such, they became friends. Just friends. She and Johan were born in Slovakia. Johan came to the US to play hockey and he brought her over to go to college at MIT. She has a solid family support system with her brother, father, step mother and grandmother.
When the company Hana is working for has to abruptly close down, she finds herself in a predicament. There is only one solution: Marry one of her brother’s teammates. And the lucky groom is Aiden.
They have been friends since the day they met. Both felt an attraction to the other, but they knew that if anything happened between them it would put a strain on Johan and Aiden’s friendship and team relationship. Now they are going to be married. It is not a matter of if they will do the deed, but when.
But Aiden is keeping secrets. It is not until someone asks them about having children that they both realize they have not had some conversations that need to be had.
Lucky for him, Hana understands his concerns. It also helps that he offers her other options as a compromise.
But fate has a mind of its own, and will intervene and turn their worlds upside down. Hurtful words are said. Trust is broken. And so are their hearts.
Will Aiden be able to redeem himself?
With one final grand gesture, after realizing with an idiot he has been, Aiden finally goes after what he wants. But is it too late?
Impressions
While I understand Aiden’s concerns about his genetics, what I do not understand is how he could jump to conclusions the way he did. It made me so angry the way he spoke to Hana and the accusations he levied. Without even giving her a chance to speak.
Everything about Hana was about communication. When they were looking to buy a house, she was concerned about the price and she needed Aiden to help her put together a budget. She does not want to be seen as a gold digger. She knows she is not contributing financially because of her situation, so she is very cognizant of spending his money.
Lucky for Hana, she has a core group of friends within the team WAGs. But that will only get her so far after fate intervenes in her relationship with Aiden. I loved seeing her interact with these women in the best of times and the worst.
Mr Knight is a knight in shining armor. I love that he is interested in what really happened and wants to help her fix this fissure. He has more money than God, but can he really convince Aiden to do the right thing?
But I think the older woman in the airport was the absolute best, next to Millie. She intervenes on Hana’s behalf. Then she talks with her in the bathroom. She asks blunt questions and gives her some sage advice. And to find out she is a Knights season ticket holder was the best.

About Kat Mizera

USA Today Bestselling author Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she’s called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She’s never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she’d probably choose the west coast.
Kat’s a typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max). When she’s not writing, she’s either scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) – traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible. She hopes to retire there one day so she can spend her days writing books on the beach.
As you can guess from her series, the Las Vegas Sidewinders, Kat loves hockey. She is also a freelance hockey writer, covering her favorite team, the Florida Panthers, and any other teams that have an interesting story. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There’s something enticing about hockey players and romance…
