Flirting With Trouble is book 1 in the new The Silvers at Silver Island spin-off series. We follow Wells Silver as he falls head first in to love with Victory Braden and watch him woo her out of her self imposed box.

About Flirting With Trouble
Wells Silver is a sensitive soul. His childhood was strained now people think he is not serious about relationships. He owns the local bar and restaurant where everyone goes. He is successful professionally, but he is realizing he is missing something in his life.
Victory Braden is the oldest, and only girl child, in her family. She married her boss at a very young age, even though he was quite a bit older than her. Her family worries about her being closed off and not living her life to the fullest, but she is not ready yet. She is a successful businesswoman, but she is not following her true love in her professional life.
When Wells first meets Victory, at Flynn and Sutton’s wedding, he is drawn to her. But she rebuffs him. They meet again at the holiday party on Silver Island and again she rebuffs him. Why is she not even interested in him?
Wells is known as a player. Is this moniker earned? Possibly. But people would be surprised at his fear of rejection. So when Victory is not interested, it is a hard pill for him to swallow. But never let it be said that he gives up easily.
Wells is looking to expand his restaurant and looking at property in New York City. He is passing a bar on his way back to the hotel when he sees Victory in a bar having a drink. He goes in and engages her in conversation. He has no clue what this day represents to her. He just knows he wants to spend some time with her.
After some drinks and a lot of dancing, Vic decides it might be time for one night with a playboy.
Sadly, Wells thought their night together meant something, but when she ghosts him, he does not understand why. He is so much more than a one night stand. He just has to figure out how to prove that to her.
And prove it he does. Wells is really a closet romantic. He does little things. He listens to her and tries to plan “dates” that remind her of the things she loves and has not done in years.
Although Vic is enjoying their time together, she is not ready to spend time in Wells’s world. He has invited her to come to the island and spend time with him, his family and friends. But she still has feelings of guilt like she is betraying her deceased husband.
But when Wells suggests the impossible, Vic does not know how to respond. It frustrates him and he walks away. He needs to cool off, but he also needs to give time to Vic for her to fully heal and feel comfortable being with someone that is not her husband.
He is miserable. She is miserable. But neither of them are quite ready to admit they were wrong. So when the grand gesture is made, and the subsequent conversation occurs, keep tissues handy. There will be tears of sadness and then tears of joy.
Impressions
This book is one of the more emotional books in the Love In Bloom series that I have read. Although it has been five years since her husband passed away, Vic is still dealing with guilt. But with Wells’s help, she will learn to live again. Throw in Seth being on Team Wells and seeing how happy he makes her will go a long way. She values family. She values hard work. And Wells will give her both.
