About Just One More Affair
Jared met Charlotte at his father’s home at a family get together awhile ago. He was instantly attracted to her, but did not act on it given that she co-parents the twins with Noah, who was involved with his sister, Fallon.
Years ago, Noah and Charlie had a one night stand that resulted in their twins, Dylan and Dakota. These girls are precocious, but so adorable. They have been co-parenting since day one. They are good friends, but there is no love lost between them.
While Charlie goes off to Egypt to follow her dream, Noah has the girls full time. But when she comes home for visits, she has them. Since she is home for Noah and Fallon’s wedding, she has had the girls until the night of the wedding. Since she is flying out the next day, back to Egypt, Noah’s parents are taking them. Which leaves her open to possibilities.
And oh the possibilities.
Yep, you guessed it. Jared and Charlotte hookup that night. It is just a one night stand, since she is going back to Egypt to finish her archaeological dig. But man, what a night.
Fast forward a few weeks. Charlie is packing up to come home for good. She is excited to see her girls and spend a lot of time with them. She has desperately missed them. But things have changed for her and now she must face the music.
Jared and Noah team up to help Charlotte with an apartment, especially after the bomb she drops on them. Once she finally relents and accepts the apartment, life starts moving quickly for both of them.
Jared is excited about their prospects. Charlotte is starting to trust him more. With the girls. With her life. With her secrets. And Jared is starting to open up to her about his family dynamics and childhood secrets.
When danger comes knocking on Charlotte’s door, it is Jared facing consequences and Charlotte regretting her decision and her family. Guilt is such a fickle witch.
Will Charlotte run away from Jared because of what has happened? Will Jared let her? Will his family accept her, warts and all? Or will they just tolerate her because of him?
Impressions
I loved the way Charlotte broke the news to Jared about their surprise. What a way to throw water on a fire. And then to have Dex jokingly ask him if the family meeting was announce a surprise bun. These Sterling men are hysterical. But throw Dakota and Dylan into the mix and enjoy the ride.
